My point was that when a show has been running awhile, the producers try to breath some new life into it to keep it running. That often means putting in a celebrity to bring in tourists.
Lena Hall will not do that. In the beginning, it didn't matter. Is the show selling out? If it is, it won't make a difference. And even if you think that people would go see "Little Shop" for the name, imagine what "Little Shop" with a celeb would do.
The other thing was that all the chat was about this big announcement coming from Little Shop. Lena Hall is a wonderful talented actress, and known to theatre folk, but it means zero to most ticket buyers.
But yes, she'll be great, especially after the strangely cast Tammy Blanchard. |
