They recorded their album on the stage of the Belasco with an invited audience. Tickets were lotteried through Playbill, and I had one, but alas something came up. I can’t think of any others that weren’t recordings of live performances.

Passing Strange, I think, is the only musical with both a live album and a live video recording, taped at two separate points in the run.
