I never followed her voice over career, but remain amazed at how she was able to reinvent herself. I fondly remember her shenanigans on the Make Room for Daddy as well as many other sitcoms. I even remember she and Brian Keith who were the guest players on the game show "You Don't Say," which was played similarly to Password. After she gave more than a couple of good clues to the guest who didn't get the answer, Ms. Carroll dropped her head on her arms in exasperation, and stayed there. When Keith's clue was similarly mistook by his partner, he dropped his head over Carroll's!
But more importantly was how this TV comedienne came back to off-Broadway with Gertrude Stein x3, was taken seriously as an actress, and had a whole new career. I believe she lived in DC, and was known for her interpretations of Shakespeare, among other classic roles. RIP! |
