I ran into Mary on the number 10 bus decades ago--the 70s, I think. We had a very nice conversation. Not a long one, but pleasant. At the time, a friend was writing a show with her. I told my friend to mention my chatting with Mary on the bus. When I asked my friend what Mary said about our meeting, she said Mary's response was, "I have never been on the number 10 bus." I got to know her a little some years later, but I chose not to bring up the number 10 again.

Learned decades too late from my high school music teacher how much Mary Rodgers had loved my performance as Winifred in our production of ONCE UPON A MATTRESS...wish I had known, having at age 5 made everyone think I had learned to read when I memorized every page of her THE ROTTEN BOOK. SO looking forward to reading this memoir!!

She said she agreed with me and would send my comments over to the boys at the office, After she passed away i read so many tributes in the Tines, That this sort of kindness was typical of her
