| Yes, 100 seats is a trigger as well. Technically anything between 100-499 seats is Off Broadway, while 99 and under is Off Off Broadway. The one specific contract I know of that is the relevant is the AEA showcase code, which requires productions to be in houses with 99 seats or less (which occasionally is accomplished by covering up seats). There are more showcase code restrictions as well- only can run for 16 performances, etc. There may be other AEA contracts for which 100 seats is a distinction but this is one of the big ones. |
