The first (or co-launched like Hamilton) national tour of new or revival is 99% of the time a union tour. I kind of use a rule of thumb that if the show is on broadway it is probably still a union tour—but some long running shows might not be as proven by link on the next post below.
I don’t mind non-union shows but I do mind that the ticket price is usually the same or close to it. I know there is a lot going into the weekly costs than just salaries but it does seem like the ticket price should be substantially less for a non union. But it’s more what the market will pay than actually costs. |
