| Yes, he's funny, charming, can sing, dance, is captivating, I believe that is all true. But how does that qualify him to play Detroit? Lots of people have those qualities and are wrong for the role. | |

| Just because YOU don't think he's qualified, doesn't mean he isn't. While you're sitting on this board whining about a performance you haven't even seen, he's getting ready to star in the show. *shrug* | |

| I didn’t say he wasn’t qualified. I asked a question. I also posted this earlier if you scroll up. It was in response to SOMEONE ELSE saying Iglehart was wrong for the part: “I thought the same thing but it's good to have an unexpected choice in casting sometimes. Nathan Lane wasn't a typical Nathan Detroit when he was cast in the role. Lane's no Sinatra. But then he became the type everyone wanted to cast. And who would've thought of Walter Bobbie for Nicely Nicely? When I watched them on the Tonys, my eye wandered to Sabella, wondering why he wasn't playing the role. Anyway, it can be very effective to play against type. We'll see. I didn't like him all that much in Aladdin but he won a Tony!” So who is whining about a performance he hasn’t seen? And I love how you implied that my opinion doesn’t matter but yours somehow does. Explain. |
