Silvers would have been perfect. I don't like the film version of Guys and Dolls at all, it's lifeless and the solid individual elements it contains never come together.
I love Sinatra, but once his Oscar establlshed that he was "back,' he was usually more about the business of being Sinatra than anything else. I'm glad he walked off the set of Carousel a year later. |
