NYT: Inside Jim Steinman's Connecticut mansion, now for sale for $5.5 million - all belongings intact.

6,000 square feet, but just two bedrooms.
Lots of gothic design touches and gold records, plus a painting of "taxidermic bats flying into the maw of an alligator skull."

Wanna buy it?

I would do anything for love... but I won't do that.

I kind of like it, if the reclusive hero of Joris-Karl Huysmans' À rebours was a rock writer this would have been perfect. It's also very wheelchair accessible and it looks like it might have been intentionally designed for Steinman after his first stroke.

Steinman's songs for Meatloaf were deliciously, deliriously over the top.
