| Not doing great, nope. I'm not going to be surprised if it doesn't even get a non-eq second national. | |

| I was very surprised to see how long it is sitting down in LA for. I am not sure what makes them think there's that kind of demand for seeing this show live. I wish it the best, I hear the tour cast is fantastic. Hopefully the existence of the movie creates interest in seeing it live rather than detracts from it. | |

| I could well be wrong, but the word I've been hearing is that all tours are underperforming expectations. And isn't it generally true with movies as well, though there have been some blockbusters? I suspect that some have a general reluctance due to COVID to sit in a theater, and I think that a significant number of people just settled into a different lifestyle when we were "sheltering in place" back in 2020 and simply got used to staying home and watching TV, etc. I admit to this being very speculative on my part. | |

| The COME FROM AWAY tour has been very spotty, selling out in a few places and playing to 50% in many. | |

| The tour I'm currently out with is doing just fine, selling out many nights and coming very close most others. Hearing the same from friends on other tours. I've heard from some other friends on a FEW that they're not doing great - but those are also shows that didn't do well on Broadway either. The majority of tour folk in my circle of friends all report their shows doing fine (ditto the presenter reps I've spoken with). | |

| Hadestown recently played for two months in San Francisco and is coming back for a week in Aug/Sept, so I’m assuming it did well the first time around. | |

| Hadestown did real well in L.A. and Moulin Rouge seems to be selling well, but for that our $58 Goldstar tickets were pretty much center orchestra. Wednesday eve, purchased on Sunday before. Still, the orchestra was full and mezz looked crowded too. But we got $26 tickets to Freestyle Love Supreme for a Sunday evening and we purchased on Thursday. Yet the theater was packed. I can't really tell what that all means, other than I will continue to go on off nights for the best deals. Am seeing Prom in two weeks, I'll see how it is doing then. | |

| I see the Broadway tours in Clevelsnf. I have not been since pre-pandenic. There is no longer Vax checks here and I am nearing 70 years old. I'm always masked. |

| Every Broadway subscription show I've seen in the last few months in Chicago (nearly all originally slated for the 2020-21 season) had sparsely populated balconies & all but Moulin Rouge had aggressive discounts (and even MR! had plenty of empty seats near us in the mezz). The Prom, a show I adored on Broadway, did a great job transitioning to tour, with Beth Leavel's original understudy doing an admirable job replacing her & Actor-Director-SM Patrick Wetzel living much more comfortably in Brooks Ashmanskas's shoes than James Corden did ... but even the original production had trouble filling houses (I blame the title, TBH). And the movie didn't really do it any favors, as the unexpected twist is handled much better on stage & left me wondering how it would all resolve in the second act--not a hook if you know going in. | |

| This is my sense too. Other than Hadestown, most (if not all) touring shows that played Chicago have been easy to get discounted tickets to. That was the case for my tickets to The Prom, Hairspray and My Fair Lady. All of which I enjoyed. | |

| For me, it does genuinely hurt my interest in paying to see them. Granted, most of the main shows I've seen in NYC... but Come From Away, Dear Evan Hansen, The Prom, Hamilton, Everybody's Talking About Jamie (which has a pro-shot AND a proper film)... I did end up paying to see Jamie on tour because my bf wanted to go, and I saw the Hadestown tour also because of my bf, though I must say I'm very glad I went to that... the tour cast I saw in LA a couple of months ago was phenomenal and overall I liked them, and the show as a result, much more than I did on Broadway. (when I saw it on Broadway Andre was sadly out sick, and while I'd say that Amber Grey and Patrick Page were overall better than the tour Persephone/Hades... the tour actors were also incredible, and the two leads I liked much more, and the Hermes, etc -- the tour Eurydice had a more interesting voice and did a better job with the acting than Eva (who I was blown away by in Saigon but not in Hades), and I detested everything Reeve Carney did outside of his relative ease with the crazy high notes of the score, which the tour Orpheus didn't do as well but I didn't hate every second of his affected performance like I did with Reeve so it was an improvement). Anyway, I am just saying I think it's harder to get people to see a tour with so many cheap or free ways to see a show from home now. I don't think it impacts people seeing it on *broadway*, but I have to wonder if it has an impact on how many people are willing to spend money (and possibly risk covid), and how much money they're willing to spend, when they could watch at home. Or maybe it just has to do with show to show... people who loves these particular shows may only want to see them live, or again, more. Other than Hadestown I had no interest in seeing any of those shows again after Broadway (I felt I saw the best possible version of them in nyc, and didn't love them anyway). If there were a tour of Sweeney Todd or Cabaret or Great Comet ... I would absolutely go. |
