| He's here doing a concert, so I don't know if fixing is on his agenda. The score requires a lot of fixing if not a complete re-write. | |

| John's tour is currently on a short break (the next date is September 7 in Toronto) so he can spend time in Chicago for the last few weeks of the run there. | |

| Can't find the source for the interview but a few weeks back there was an article about his upcoming show in Chicago, the cast of TDWP being invited and Elton saying he would be staying in Chicago and was prepared to stay in his hotel room writing new material if it was needed. I would expect that the reviews on Monday will be mixed and a fair amount of time (and money) will be spent rehauling the show during its Chicago run. On a similar note, I saw the Chicago tryout of AIDA (also previously in Atlanta) and the show was a disaster. Elton's contributions were much improved by the time the show came to Broadway as were other elements which eventually made it a very good show, if not an altogether great one. With that in mind, I have faith that TDWP can follow a similar path and I hope that it will. |

| The original creative team are revamping the show with Schele Williams directing. Current plan is to open in Germany (within the next year), bring the show to the West End (finally!) then hopefully Broadway. They have added a new character (Aida's mother) so I would imagine the score will see some changes as well. Tim Rice described all of this in a recent podcost as he has always wanted AIDA to have a West End production. |

| I'm so glad Elton won the Tony (and Grammy) for it. I love many of its songs: ''I Know the Truth,'' ''My Strongest Suit,'' ''Elaborate Lives'' ... On the other hand, I found his score to ''Billy Elliot,'' with Lee Hall's lyrics, blah. And I saw the show 3 times, so I could catch each of the Billys. I actually prefer a couple of Elton's songs from ''Lestat'' (with lyrics by Bernie Taupin): like ''Right Before My Eyes'' and ''Sail Me Away.'' Hugh Panaro sounded sensational on those solos, and I heard a cast album was made of ''Lestat,'' but it's never been released. Hugh sang a song from ''Lestat'' for our ''Leading Men II'' benefit for Broadway Cares, & included a touching tribute to fellow actor J.C. Sheets. |

| I agree. I found it baffling that a musical that won Best Score + 3 other Tonys didn't get nominated for Best Musical in a rather weak season where the winner had not one single note of live music played nor sung....but I digress. | |

| I agree. Tony voters appeared to appreciate ''Aida'' more than the Tony nominators did, rewarding it in 4 out of its 5 categories. If ''Aida'' had been up for Best Musical, it might've even beat ''Contact.'' But it's as if the nominators went out of their way to snub ''Aida'' by naming the short-lived ''Marie Christine,'' which closed in January. ... Also snubbed: ''Aida's'' book, Adam Pascal and Sherie Rene Scott. And I would've given the Tony to Scott, who was both hilarious (''My Strongest Suit'') and heartbreaking (''I Know the Truth''). Oh, well. ''Aida'' happily found an audience and ran for 1,852 performances - far longer than that season's 4 Best Musical nominees ran, combined. |

| Hasn’t been announced yet. The fall is rather crowded with new musicals so waiting to the spring probably isn’t a bad idea but keeping the cast together can be an obstacle if the down period is too long. | |
