| Wasn't it actually a film? It was based on the revival of Stop the World -- I Want to Get Off with Davis and Mercer that ran a little less than a month on Broadway in 1978. | |

| It played at the State Theater (aka Koch) at Lincoln Center. There was a movie with Tony Tanner that had a limited circulation. And a TV version with Peter Scolari. None of these productions captuted the over-the-top performance by Anthony Newley. Few male performers have been willing to go as far as Newley did wtih emothional expression. He made Judy Garland look like Virginia O'Brien. |

| Yes--it was meant to be released in movie theaters. At the time, there was a small trend of filmed plays being showed in movie theaters (Give "Em Hell Harry, American Film Theater) where the producer usually rented out the theatre for the night or the week. I recall seeing a ton of ads for this in Variety, heralding that it was available, but I don't think it ended playing in too many places. | |

| The complete musical was filmed in the Long Beach Terrace Theater. I was performing in another show in an adjacent theater, The Long Beach Center Theater, and went backstage to the Terrace to watch the filming. DVD's of this performance are available online. I purchased one. The musical numbers are fantastic! | |
