The reference of gay twitter? I don't think you're understanding how common this is. But I certainly will not be referencing it this way on this board again, especially when I'm criticizing the writing. But again, my point was that this piece feels like something that would be happily at home as a thread on twitter (regardless of what subset of twitter communities it would be found in or meant for), more than the NYT. And in fact I would have had much more fun with it had it been there and not in the NYT "Critics Notebook".
But I'm just going in circles. I understand I wasn't clear, and some people are offended by what seemed like my implication. All I can do is be crystal clear that that was not my intention, and that I am gay myself and part of the two twitter communities I referenced, and apologize for the poor/mis-communication.
