According to the About the Artists website, Namath played Joe/Josephine in productions of Sugar in both Atlantic City and Los Angeles in 1984. Mimi Hines and Phil Ford were cast as Sweet Sue and Osgood in Atlantic City. Robert Morse and Jack Carter played Jerry/Daphne and Osgood in LA.

Namath did appear on Broadway as a replacement Lt. Maryk in the '83 revival of The Caine Mutiny Court Marshall.

Namath also appeared in regional productions of Picnic, Bells Are Ringing, Damn Yankees, Fiddler on the Roof, L'il Abner, and probably other shows during his acting career, according to various sources.
