Please keep Peppermint as far away from a musical stage as possible. She was the worst thing about the *already dismal* "Head Over Heels."
As previously mentioned in the thread, I think Alex Newell is inspired casting, at least to slightly move the box office needle for a month or so. He isn't "famous" but has a niche fan base. Titus had been circling the show before D.C., I believe. He is older, but so is Michael R. Jackson - it would be a more obvious autobiography in that sense.
I never quite understood why this show moved to Broadway. Sure, some people think it's revelatory and advances the genre (I don't). But there was never going to be a market for this material to get it to recoupment.
