I mean... I definitely acknowledged that in my little sigh... while I don't believe it wasn't intended, that is what was announced. Yes, it's possible I'd have missed the entire thing if it hadn't been enough of a hit to warrant an extension (one I do believe was intended by producers unless it flopped, but that's speculation)... or that it wouldn't have transferred at all and I'd have missed it (as I did) at Encores too.
I didn't claim my frustration was entirely practical. But I can't be the only one. We don't live in a world where it didn't transfer or didn't extend, or where a raved about ITW revival starring a global music star and broadway musical favorite wouldn't have enough interest/sales to extend, so I'm not gonna be pretending that it may have well be considered something I'd have missed anyway. I *will* get to see it in early Sept, as I almost definitely knew I could depend on when it was announced for a bway run in the first place, and it's a bummer I will miss Lester and possible others. Ah well. |
