''Spring Awakening'' created stars like Jonathan Groff, Lea Michele and Skylar Astin, but then again, it was a Tony-winning musical that ran for over 2 years. As the recent HBO documentary recalls, it struggled during its early months to find an audience; it took its Tony wins to turn it into a hit.
