As hard as it may be for you and others to believe, filing a lawsuit is a last resort, something a good lawyer will always try to avoid. It's akin to what a doctor does by trying every alternative before pulling out a scalpel.

Let's analyze why a lawsuit would not be the goal.

1. LMM doesn't need the church's filthy lucre (which is not to say they would not demand some hurt money).
2. This rinky dink church doesn't have enough money to make it worthwhile to sue.
3. One major goal here is to make sure this church does not ever do anything like this again. The Hamilton ship has sailed. What's needed, thus, is an agreement that they will not ever do anything like this again, with any property. This also needs to be a teachable moment in which they come to understand the moral bankruptcy of what they did. NB: a lawsuit could NEVER enjoin conduct beyond the offense before the court (which is, for all intents and purposes, moot) and any effort to do so would be unconstitutional. Moreover, it could not force a teachable moment.
4. Another goal would be to extend that teachable moment beyond this one little church at the Mexican border to others who might think they can do the same thing. Again, not something a court could achieve.

I am quite certain these lawyers are doing A LOT more than your snarky "think about things." All the thinking was done on call #1 between attorney and client, kinda like what I just did above.
