It's a problem that's been discussed on TV for many decades. On November 29, 1954, I LOVE LUCY showed Ethel Mertz obviously thrilled with her seats for OVER THE TEACUPS, but worried about the two empty seats next to her "I hope they don't come in late and crawl all over us; if there's anything I can't stand it's people who come in late and crawl all over you!" On January 13, 1973, on THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW, Phyllis Lindstrom described a similar situation at the Mozart concert she attended: "There was this commotion in the aisle; late arrivals, 'Boors' I thought. I turned to give them a GOOD GLARE."
