| ...as someone who lives in the literal and figurative middle of North American, I speak with authority that even if you don't know them, people by the busloads have seen Hamilton. I have personally chartered four busses to New York, six to Chicago, one to LA, and several caravans to smaller venues. Interest in seeing Rent, for which I also organized tours, was never as high. And as a 30 year veteran of teaching in high school and community theater programs, the impact of Hamilton is at a different order of magnitude than Rent or Phantom. The only thing close is Wicked, which had a tremendously successful sit down in Chicago and continues to keen interest where ever it plays. |
