I believe one production had her in a wheelchair which of course makes no sense because she goes out to the store for her mother.
In the productions where Laura has been in a wheelchair—for example, the Broadway production with Madison Ferris—the actor playing Laura uses a wheelchair. (Ferris has muscular dystrophy.)
