I agree. I am old enough to have seen the original production. Peter Brook’s direction was terrific. Elizabeth Seal was magical. The score, for the most part, beautiful, sensitive, and always interesting. To dismiss it as creepy is
a glib and unfair evaluation of a charming show. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it just happens to be one that I and many others don’t agree with. |
