…Beanie would have been better served in having the first ever Broadway revival of “Flora, the Red Menace” mounted for her as the (Broadway) star making vehicle.
Less of an iconic role based on a fictional character … show only ran a few months and a film version never happened - plus it has a great score by Kander & Ebb
Who knows Beanie may return in ten years in yet another revival of GYPSY and use her pain and torment from her FUNNY GIRL experience as inspiration every night she sings “Roses Turn” ….and win the Toni ….having the last laugh |
