| I don't know if I can think of a production that was the first major one, or London premiere after Broadway that was so radically different than the Broadway original, but so ingenious and inventive in its different take from every level of a directorial approach. Unfortunately it only exists in the brilliant OLC recording, which I think is a different-but-equal cast album to the OBC, with Imelda especially doing incredible work, and Julia and the whole cast as well, all with very different takes and performances than the OBC... and it exists in a few videos from TV, and photos of the stunning and bizarre production. I've been fascinated with it since I was a teenager. |
