I am a huge fan of most everything Jeanine Tesori has written (with one other notable exception), and adore David Lindsay-Abaire... I couldn't get through the cast album or the filmed stage production.
It's an incredibly popular movie/title, but I don't think it was the right fit of that for Broadway.
However it seems to be performed constantly in schools and regional theaters. Luckily I've never been invited to see it. ;) |
