My husband saw the Fiasco/Roundabout production, and he thought it actually worked pretty well, since they interpolated material from the original play. This production uses the now-standard script, so yes, it will be more conventional, at least as far as "Merrily" goes.
I saw it in London. Aside from being a rather dreary production, it convinced me that everyone is right: "Merrily" is just not a very good musical, for all the reasons commonly cited. |
