| I haven't looked it up, but I'm not sure if we know yet if Maria will be using the same designs, or the same creative team, or if she will try to do the same production with or without her London folks... or whether she's planing to approach it anew. Either way, the production they filmed in London was so badly directed on every level... and she was the director. I'm so bummed she gets to do it AGAIN, in a 3rd major production in 10 years... enough. I know many people loved her London production and felt she "solved" the show (she most definitely did not), and also defend that it was much better live than how it plays on film... fair enough. Still. Still and all. Terrible, and not at all worthy of making the director of the first major NYC revival with big star casting with the standard author-approved version (I don't mean the short lived off-broadway experimental new version they allowed from Fiasco which garnered so little buzz it might as well not have happened). |
