Let's just say this cast has a LOT of heavy lifting to do to make this THE new definitive Merrily... this is basically the Funny Girl revival, except with a better cast at least. And the cast may just lift it into a higher level that even the rare Merrily originalist snob like me could applaud the production. Since I don't have approval to produce the version I want to see, I may as well hope for the one they do allow, that will be the new marker of Merrily productions, will be good.
