| The first thing I generally do when reading about a case like this is to see who the attorneys for the plaintiff are, because as a previous poster pointed out, the chances of her actually winning this case are virtually nil. given the standard of "actual malice" because Osnes is a "public figure. So if she has quality representation, it's probably some big firm charging her by the hour. Alternatively, she might be represented by some lesser tier attorney or firm on a contingency, hoping that the "deep pocket" defendant will offer some bucks to settle the case rather than spend a lot in legal fees taking the case through a trial. But I've been unable to find out who filed the complaint on her behalf. |
