Actually, it's reportedly a series of lists -- directories -- rather than indexes.

And I'd edit -- "and for years, she and other former Shakespeare Festival insiders have be reluctant to talk to writers and filmmakers, fearing they'd misinterpret and misunderstand. This book could be closer to the truth." -- That was my misunderstanding.

There have been at least three earlier books about Joe Papp:

Enter Joe Papp – in search of the new American theater – Stuart Little, January 1974

Joe Papp – An American Life – Helen Epstein, August 1994

Free For All – Joe Papp, The Public, and the Greatest Theatre Story Ever Told – Kenneth Turan, November 2009 (Kenneth Turan Introduces Free for All: More than twenty-three years ago, I signed a contract with producer Joseph Papp to work on a definitive oral history of the New York Shakespeare Festival/Public Theater...)
