| I was also surprised by Dramedy's reaction to the ghost in light of the source but one interesting thing about ghosts in relation to theatre audiences is that, up until about the end of the 19th Century, just about everyone believed in ghosts so, I would think in this context, one would not be taken out of a play that way. Maybe, too, some of us are willing to indulge ghosts in Elizabethan drama but not in contemporary work. Or not; I'm just kinda musing. |
