| I wonder how much the show is done by community groups, since it has a major gender imbalance of around 11 male roles and 1 female role. I think it was done by regional theatres, but very few Broadway plays this century with a cast of 10 or more have had a significant regional life in professional theaters. The major exceptions besides The History Boys would be Curious Incident and August:Osage County, I think, although there might be others I'm not thinking of. I do not have a sense of whether a play with a large cast is an overall plus or minus for community groups. |
