| I liked, but did not love, the ITW movie. I think a Gilliam film of the piece could have been wonderful. Or awful. All I know is that the creativity and originality made movies like Time Bandits very, very rewarding for repeated viewings as a kid. | |

| ... were really Gilliam's heyday as a filmmaker: Time Bandits, Brazil, The Fisher King, and 12 Monkeys. I don't think anything he's done since the mid-90s holds a candle to any of them. | |

| I recently saw Dr. Parnassus and it's a mess for many reasons including Heath Ledger's death during the production. However, it has some of my favorite sequences in all of Gilliam's work. | |

| Absolutely, and I'd add "Munchausen" to that list. I recently re-watched it as a reference for a theater project, and it really holds up. | |

| Don't read Sarah Polley's (brilliant) "Run Towards the Danger," in that case. Her descriptions of Gilliam's callous treatment of her as a child will make it unbearable to watch "Munchausen." | |

| Not one of my faves. But I could watch Brazil from now until doomsday. (And terrifyingly, it feels even more relevant today.) | |

| His production of Benvenuto Cellini at ENO was one of the greatest opera productions I’ve ever seen. It was a bit like Phelim McDermott in it’s hand made spectacle but much darker and more chaotic. | |
