| Ticket prices ARE a problem. Sure, the highest- priced shows like Music Man and Plaza Suite sold well. But folks who bought those tickets had less to spend on other shows they might have been interested in, and those other shows were too often overpriced without the lure of a Hugh Jackman or a Sarah Jessica Parker to rationalize hundreds of dollars a ticket. When the entire center orchestra is blocked out for premium pricing and when dynamic pricing discourages advanced planning, I don’t see how it can be denied that ticket prices have become high enough to discourage regular theatergoing. |
