"My only interest in a revival of CABARET would be an actual revival of the original stage version that no one does anymore. I want the whole club onstage. I don’t want to sit in it. I want The Telephone Song and Meeskite and Why Should I Wake Up. At this point, it would be revelatory. Encores should do it."
Hear! Hear! What a great idea. Ever since Chris became gay or bisexual, courtesy of Michael York in the film, we've lost that trajectory, the romance of Sally and Cliff. And "Perfectly Marvelous" is a great song. Yes. That would be a real treat. To see what it was before Fosse et al had their decadent way with it. How times have changed. |
