....and absolutely loved it. It's a bit of a slow burn as it's a big family saga with several plot lines and some characters played by children in early scenes and then adults later, but one follows it all, nevertheless, and it all adds up to a stunning and poignant conclusion. It certainly takes some concentration from the audience but not because of particularly intellectual ideas.
It's the highly emotional story of Stoppard's own family history and his discovery of past secrets. Gorgeous staging and designs. I hope the ensemble cast in NY will be as wonderful as in London. I expect I''ll see it again. |
