I did not suggest, did I, that any of these shows were "the dregs"? What I was referring to was the assessment of a commercial producer as to the value of a show that LCT bought tickets for, to sell to its members. And for each producer, that's an individual calculus.

It's also important to avoid confounding different types of deals. In the case of the present show, LCT is not a co-producer; it is a purchaser of tickets at a discount. (What I called a wholesale purchase, which could also be made, for example, with a broker.) Mockingbird had LCT as a producer. That's a major difference. As I keep saying, every deal is different and for each of the shows you mention, you can see what the basic arrangement looks like. Women of the Verge, for example, had LCT as the only producer. LCT was not a producer on Clybourne, which had its own back story. And so on. But the important point I make here is that I was not saying anything qualitative about any of the literary properties.
