Nathan Lane, who made Emmy history with his 7 nominations for Comedy Guest Actor, finally came up victorious at this weekend's Creative Emmys for Hulu's ''Only Murders in the Building.'' Nathan wasn't there to accept, but maybe he'll pop up to present at the Primetime Emmys (Sept. 12).
However, Jane Lynch, who left ''Funny Girl'' earlier, lost her Guest Actress bid to win her 6th Emmy, this time for ''Only Murders in the Building.''
Elsewhere, Cinco Paul won the Emmy for Best Music and Lyrics for his ''Corn Puddin''' parody tune from ''Schmigadoon!'' ... Colman Domingo, a Tony nominee for ''The Scottsboro Boys,'' won Best Drama Guest Actor for ''Euphoria.'' ... And ''The Gilded Age'' won the Emmy for Production Design.
Also, ''The Tony Awards Present: Broadway's Back,'' a 2-hour special, lost Variety Special to the 12-minute ''Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show.''
And Tony winners Chris Gattelli (''Schmigadoon!'') and Sergio Trujillo (''Annie Live'') didn't get to win Emmys for their choreography.
Finally, in the wake of this weekend's Creative Emmys, Adele, Eminem, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr need only a Tony to complete their EGOTs. |
