Thanks for responding and offering a suggestion. TBH I don't think the extension idea is something that would cross their mind. I think most people see the fifty bucks as a relatively nominal fee. Even if they buy Camelot and nothing else, it's pretty much covered, and of course the idea is that it will also let people see shows downstairs at a good price. Your assumption that there will be a different fall show in the Beaumont may also be something that had not occurred to them. It just seems to me that you are advocating for less rather than more, and I think that's a hard argument to make. A person who does not want to see OSM doesn't have to. I think quite a few people will. What surprised me, I guess, is the idea that anyone thinks that (let's say) $300 seats are going to be priced in line with the Beaumont. Or are people expecting that they will be offered at some higher price like $200? I guess I just don't understand.

I guess another question I have is how much ill will there really is. We have a tendency here to get well ahead of the outrage curve sometimes. Let's assume that Audra is going to create something good. How much ill will do meh seats for good theatre generate in comparison to good seats for meh theatre? I would probably be more exercised about this if the membership were considerably more. As I see it, the histrionics over basically $25 max (apportioning $25 to Camelot and assuming one gets no other benefit from the membership) seems disproportionate and I suspect that's what prompted the reactions. ymmv, of course.
