Is broadway really suffering?

Hot shows like Hamilton and music man sell out. I’m surprised that lion king does so well as a “tourist show”. The fact that Beetlejuice and phantom are closing is not a sign of broadway limping along. I think there are other reasons for phantom closing and Beetlejuice shouldn’t have come back. 6 new musicals are opening this fall along with 2 new revivals this season. That’s a robust fall schedule in my book. Just last week , most shows were in the high 80s to capacity—that doesn’t look like people are afraid to go to the theater.
