Let’s talk about the condescension of that email…

… since someone else brought it up.

The way they foreground the news with “You’re the first to hear!” as if we’re special insiders, and say “To limit your inconvenience we’ve taken the liberty of updating your tickets” as if doing the special favor of randomly moving everyone’s tickets nearly five months later is more convenient than simply checking with us to ask whether we’d like to see it at all now.

And the cherry on the sundae: If we don’t want to donate the value of the ticket, or hold onto it as a credit on our City Center account, they’re allowing that “we will issue you a refund as a one-time courtesy.” So they’re deigning to offer a refund, in case by some chance the show that we had bought tickets to see in early winter, before the Super Bowl or Valentine’s Day, doesn’t automatically suddenly fit into our schedules a week before the 4th of July. And that’s a “courtesy”?? I should hope so.
