Well, "the beast with two backs" (as I remember reading in Shakespeare and maybe in Homer's "The Odyssey"), does provide sex and company. I suppose it doubles your chance of someone providing food and drinks too-- well, before or after. But the hunger and thirst is also for intimacy and physical closeness, too. Half of that is being alone.

I think there are some other more questionable lyrics in "Funny Girl" though.
