Not surprisingly, I beg to differ.

This is a fantastic title song-- and there are so may fabulous songs in the show. I'll have to get used to the re-branded title, but I love Zippel's new lyrics in this new version.

As for the score, there are so many beautiful moments, as some fun group numbers, and the harmonies of the opening number are some of the most sumptuous of Lloyd-Webber's career.

I get it-- different strokes, but I find this to be among his most fun, charming, and tuneful scores ever.

And the stepsister's song is so fin, considering it 'doesn't have a time signature' (7/8, 9/8, 7/8, 7/8, 2/4, 7/4, 5/4, 3/4, 5/8....) It's fun and challenging and frenetic.

I also completely adore "The Woman In White"... but was less than thrilled with "Love Never Dies" or "Stephen Ward". "School of Rock" is great fun, and some of it makes me smile, but it's not a memorable work, whereas I found "Cinder...." er, "Bad Cinderella" to be thrilling and dazzling in its eclecticism and sheer fun.
