The MET is pay what you wish for NY, NJ and CT residents. I pay enough taxes that fund the MET, so my admission fee is always $1.
The previous horrendous management lost money like crazy. When the MET realized how its mismanagement nearly banjkupted it, the MET increased its entry fee and limited "Pay what you wish" to NY, NJ, and CT residents with ID.
The 9/11 Museum's $26 admission angers me to no end. We can spend trillions of dollars on the longest wars in US history, but we can't allow Americans to commemorate our history at a museum for free (except on Mondays!). The Pearl Harbor Memorial is free. The 9/11 Museum should be too.
