Here's MY thing.
I'm not saying this to be pro-vax, anti-Vax, Covid Denier, or Covid Alarmist and certainly not going to wave around the names of the dead or any of the like and DON'T get my started on that simplistic and reductive "get a vaccine and you won't catch something" mantra and we can Hindsight the Covid mitigation efforts all day when in the moment, people were (hopefully) just trying to do their best.
But I am commenting as a theatre professional. No more, no less.
No matter one's personal view, it was well known and well established that the venue and the unions required us all to be vaccinated to be able to be hired for projects. She knew that. Everyone else working on this piece knew that. She chose to not get vaccinated. She chose to not disclose that and advance along in the process to the point of tickets being available for purchase using her name in the billing. Was she planning to disclose it to everyone? Sure, you can say that now but that just be double talk unless you show us the receipts. She is saying that SHE made the choice to walk away and suing because the Post said she was fired. Well. I can't see where that matters. She accepted the job under false pretenses, openly violating the union agreement and she only left the project after that deceit was discovered.
Not a minor infraction. Not one I have seen her accept responsibility for. |
