I saw the show last week and kept waiting for something to happen. I think it is a terrific premise, especially in light of how the world is going, but the playwright needed to develop its themes more fully. And having the actress do the speech in German, while dramatic, left me guessing what she was saying, although I did understand "Ich bin..." and got the gist of it through her body language.
I loved Woh's earlier Make Believe, and was hoping for something equally thought-provoking here. Sadly, Camp Siegfried seems to be a missed opportunity. |
