I feel like when I saw Take Me Out in a prior production, Kawabata said some things that were not translated, although I think everything he says is translated in the current revival. But maybe that was a directorial decision by the earlier director (or my misremembering). I believe the Spanish-speaking players in the current revival make comments to each other that are not translated.
When the 2009-ish West Side Story revival opened, I think there were untranslated Spanish passages in some of the songs, but I think they eventually got translated before the show closed. |
