I bet Cole Porter, even if he knew, would never admit to it.
If you've read any biographies of Porter (and I've suffered through more than one), as Ernest Hemingway was a "man's man," Porter was a snob's snob. If they gave a Nobel Prize for Snobbery, he'd have easily won.
And just when you think you can't dislike the guy more, you come across his casual use of "the N word" in letters.
