I saw the original production three times, including the closing performance. I have never listened to the Donmar recording or seen a production of the revised version, partly because I don't think I know a single person who likes the show who thinks the revisions are, generally speaking, improvements.
Btw, at the closing performance, the audience was not going to let "Come Up to My Office" end without applause, as it had been staged and routined to do, and it stopped the show while the actors had to stand there waiting to continue. But I think they were not unhappy. |
