| To answer one part of your question, according to Playbill grosses the show was sold at over 100% of seating capacity last week...presumably due to standing room. And 1.7M gross. One of the top sellers among all shows. Maybe I am reading into this...lol...but do you have doubts about the reporting and that is why you are asking to hear from people who were there in the room to speak to actual capacity? There are no doubt some interesting things to discuss about how tickets are sold these days, but going back further into their (high) grosses I don't see how one could come to the conclusion that the show being a hit is a myth (or on its way to being a hit if you support the definition of hit as having recouped its original investment). Maybe you meant that the myth is that you can't get a ticket? (I have no connection, I haven't seen it and don't intend to, these are just musings of a person interested in the business side of show). |
